About Me.
I am a cultural anthropologist, mission-driven entrepreneur, and creator of The Community Cooperative; a community-building consultancy for mission-driven creators looking for support in planning their projects. My mission is to catalyze people towards genuine connections that are more than the transactional ones we encounter on a daily basis. The types of friendships we build in kindergarten, summer camp, and orientation in college are the ones that often feel the most real. We are in new environments where we show parts of ourselves we haven’t before and open to finding common ground. Through fun, conversation, and action we create space to being better individuals and better community members. I am constantly learning and I am excited to grow with this community.
So What?
Your contribution to this world matters. Even if the creative, smart proactive people are usually the Antiheros that just want to live a good life, we just cant seem to stay away from community building. Reluctant leaders know that if we can’t find what we need, we simply make it ourselves. We need community too.
How does this work?
The Community Cooperative creates opportunities for people to make genuine connections and find community. Almost every month, Coop holds an event like talks, swaps, get-togethers, meetups, performances, and expos to continuously build community networks in the Baltimore City and County area. I tried many different variations but a community-funded model feels the most honest to me. You can support the Coop with a one-time, monthly, or yearly Patron subscription at a price point that works for you. The events are community-oriented and measured successful by the people that find value in the connections the events create. The best part is that so many of these events are partnership with other organizations, community centered small businesses, or other community resources that share the same values. If you or your organization would like to partner with Coop, visit the partnership page for more information.

Financial Transparency
The Community Cooperative is considered a “for-profit” L.L.C. We utilize funds generated by events, subscriptions, or programs to facilitate community growth, provide resources to Coop members, support Coop contractors, and prioritize community interests. Profits come after all of those priorities.
